Took my Ibanez accoustic in for a proper set up today & was quite pleased to be told it's really quite a good guitar. It's only a budget model, but they seemed impressed with the build quality & sound of it. So I'm feeling all optimistic now. |

i know what you mean BUT......any kind of wood dehydrates over time and to make your wood survive it needs moisture, but i am sure you know best.I have some guitars i really would hate to restring cos they work as they are and their shitness would be exposed by the disturbance of arsing around with them |

Wishing I had more time to practice, as I don't feel I'm progressing much just now |

cant progress every day- just have fun and it will come- if you turn it into a chore or a negative thing you will be stuck for much longer |

Very true. I enjoy the practice, but sometimes trying to play when I'm tired just doesn't work. Not giving up though. |

Practise on Google today - it's Les Paul's birthday so the header is a playable 'guitar'. |

Getting further into chord theory in my guitar lessons now. Having trouble getting it into my thick head though |

I studied music for a while at school and although I can understand some of the technical stuff I can't write a tune to save my life. I looked at it very much like mathematics when I had to write a few bars. I'm not sure you need to understand it to recognise a nice chord. |

Well, I can't understand the dots I'm afraid, but tabs are fine. I'm interested in finding out how chords are constructed from scales & using intervals & all that. And how to work out the different ways a chord can be played. I'm rubbish at maths but I do enjoy taking things to bits to see how they work |
