It's me mates birthday soon - 30th. Anyone got any good ideas for a gift for a guitarist? Maybe a cool gadget like a fancy tuner, or one of them "take care of yr axe" packs with cloths and potions?

Depends how much you wanted to spend....

I got our bass player a ukelele for his birthday - it was quite cheap. He loves the thing and never puts it down now.

Harmonica & harmonica rack?

good point. maybe about £40 or so?

he's quite into the heavier end of stuff, so I'm not sure if a harmonica would go down too well. Although, if it were me, I'd love it.

Decent pair of earplugs. We've only got one pair - so taking care of them is paramount.

I have had three mates turn 40 this past 2 weeks - each is the proud owner of an intelli - clip on tuner. to a man they all love them - big easy to use display - works with vibration - also works for capo tunings - £17 - bargain got a good deal cos I bought 4 of them (one for myself)

That's a really good idea, thanks for that one. I've seen those, they do look pretty cool.

As for the earplugs. that's also a good idea. I played a gig with this guy at Christmas (as a stand-in), and by golly are they loud. Unfortunately, I was the only one with earplugs in, so they'll probably all be deaf by the time they're 40!

one of them vox 'plug yer headphones' in mini amps wouldn't go amiss,
or a ukulele, now they are fun. :D

hey, that's another great idea. He's a Marshall man, you can get those lil' Marshall stacks for about 20 nicker. He'd love one of those. I think we have a winner, thanks guys. :D
