Rory is my favourite blues guitarist - to me he was as good as it can get - not only for his way of playing but the fact that he was always about the tune and not about technique. The article in G & B is very good and as most of the info comes from his brother also accurate - such a pity he is no longer with us.

I was fortunate enough to see him play at the Dublin blues festival. He died about a year after that.

He was my main inspiration when I took up the guitar.

Must have a gander at that article next time I'm in Easons.

I still have my Taste Albums and some Rory vinyl, great guitarist I saw him way back at Lancaster Uni in 1975.... that makes me feel old.

He wasn't my main inspiration for picking up guitar but he sure was a guiding light.
