hello,
sorry if this has been asked loads before, but can anyone recommend a decent guitar shop in sheff, im thinking of gettin either an es355, country gent (or whatever they are called nowadays) or a tele, so i need to sit down and play a few before i decide.

its been a while since i bought owt guitar related, and ive no idea where is decent, someone mentioned wizard on eccy rd, but they look like a rip off outfit from their website, and i cant see the point paying over the odds for a pre-worn guitar, when im clumsy and bang em around anyway

im assuming there is any decent shops left in sheffield, or are they all trendy flats now ??

cheers mark h

Wizard are very expensive, as with most shops on eccy road!
Wavelength on London Road are the best, they don't tend to have too many big names in stock, but always have a good range of geeters.
the staff are ace too!
got most of my geetars from there, and pretty much all repairs have been done by Steve Gaines too.

mmm, interesting, do you remember roughly how much it cost to have the strat refret, i could do with refretting my first guitar, an 80's squier strat that has seen better days, still sounds good through a load of fuzz, twang and 'verb 8)

yep, i had my squier strat done about 7 years ago, think it was around £70 for the refret, then had my Tokai done about 3 years ago, was just over £90, so prices haven't gone up really!!
any excuse to put a pic of my strats up, white one on the right needs a refret soon too.
