Thought some of you might be interested in this

Jail Guitar Doors is an independent initiative set up by Billy Bragg with the aim of providing musical equipment for the use of inmates serving time in Her Majesty’s prisons. It takes its name from the b-side of the Clash’s 1978 single “Clash City Rockers”.

Brilliant idea really, Mick Jones from The Clash is heavily invloved with this project too. Love the sticker on the guitar 'This Machine Kills Time' I think Woody would have approved too.

I saw an elsebound train, on the overpass
In the driving rain, every ticket costs the same
For where you can't go
Mustang horses, champagne glasses
Anything frail anything wild
It's the price of living motion, what's beautiful is broken
And grace is just the measure of a fall.

Not alot of people know this....... The Clash and 101ers changed my life as a teenager, my band was lucky enough to support The Clash at Erics club in Liverpool in '78..Drinks later in the Grapes on Mathew Street, and again in '79 on The London Calling Tour at Deeside leisure Centre. Good 'ole days.

Forgive my self indulgence.

Great idea, I hope it makes for a positive benefit.

Probably more Cash than Clash I would have thought. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/At_Folsom_Prison

Fook'em..... your in jail to atone for your crimes, not to enjoy the benfits of twanging away in cell block 9.
Hard labour.......and a little bit more of 'I fought the Law' the Clash or Sonny Curtis versions will do just fine.
