my g5129 is not the best of my guitars at holding tune but it's not the worst.
My feeling is the tuners are not too substantial but I am told by a luthier that the nut could be making the strings stick and of course a trem does make things more difficult.

My 5129 is made in Korea by the way

I don't really have too much of a problem with mine - I always lube my nuts! Use either a soft pencil in the groves when you change the strings or you can get some graphite lubricant - there some stuff called 'nutsauce' which I use and it works really well. Check the grooves on your nut are clear too. Generally tuning issues are caused by the nut.

Also how old are your strings? old strings don't hold as well.
