Er yeah.......I am using my new es295 Les Paul gold top pretty much on everything even on me toast......I have written so many songs on the two Rickys I've bought it's all a new adventure for me,got a shit load of new pedals too,me and Shez are going to be busy with lot of tap dancing for the next tour
Is this your first les paul or did you have one in the long pigs or pulp? Are you going for a heavier sound? How does it compare with the 335?

first one i've owned,i borrowed one a few years ago, loved the sound but couldn't feel comfortable with the weight but this one is pretty light, the dynamic range of it is massive....i mean MASSIVE......its a totally different animal to the 335 or any other guitar so its not really right to compare it,i tend to use the middle pick up more on other guitars but use the treble pick up more on the Les paul.....if it was a dog.......it would have VERY large bollocks

...I'm getting a lust for a guitar with P90's on myself but that model is way out of my range. Heard a lot of bands recently with guitarists having P90's on their guitars and they really growl, look forward to hearing that monster

.... just been reading that some have humbuckers, guess I've only seen the P90 models.

Below are stills from "Later" of Richard's new guitars mentioned in previous pages. Looks like a Les Paul Gold top and a Rickenbacker 360/12C63. Both great songs and lovely guitars. You can really hear that chiming sound on "Down In The Woods"

Seeing as this thread has been bumped, here's my latest additon. I found it in a skip a couple of years ago and got a few replacement parts; new pick-guard, replica Flying-V neck etc. I finally got around to getting the electrics sorted. The action and intonation need work but it's back from the dead at last.

Thanks Richard for the correction - not a git at all! I incorrectly compared your Ric to the Ric website. It's a beautiful guitar, I love the binding - oh and you look pretty cool too playing it. What other Ric did you get - did you end up with a natural colour 360?

Do you know what the difference is between it and the 360/12C63? I had also incorrectly assumed it was this one when I saw it in last November's 'Guitarist' (or did they say which model it was, and I just skimmed the caption?). I had no idea there had been an intermediate model between the '63 and the more rounded '65 one.

I found this on a gretsch forum oddly enough. http://gretschpages.com/forum/other-guitars/rickenbacker-360v64-vs-360c63/28073/page1/

There's a picture of the two models side by side. The V64 supposedly has "hotter" pickups, the bridge pickup is closer to the bridge, the fretboard radius is larger and is semi-hollow as opposed to the C63's hollow body with X bracing.

Thanks for that very interesting link. Funny that it was on a Gretsch forum .
