its VERY thin but that means you have to be very precise which is good,i struggled at first and tried to play too much but the thing with them is that you only need to play simple things and they have a MASSIVE affect on the track

That's a really nice looking guitar, Richard. I'm looking forward to hearing it used on some of your songs. I'm hoping to buy a Rick 330-12 Fireglo soon. I've always loved the chiming, jangly sound.

At last, after probably a 20 year wait to afford it, I finally got a Rickenbacker 330-12 FG. It's a beautiful instrument, about 5 years old in excellent condition. The neck to me doesn't seem thin but then I've been used to a regular 330 six string as per my avatar pic (and my fingers are thin!).

i would like a 330 six string but haven't made up my mind what colour,i like the blonde one's best,i would love one with the edge binding on it.Also,i am new to Ricky's but i saw a 340 three pick up one that appealed to me,i suppose trying them out would be best but its so rare you find them in a shop

The ones with the edge binding are either the very expensive reissue series or the 360WB. The 360WB is a 330 shape with triangular fret inlays and the binding. They are REALLY lovely. I saw two fireglow models within a week of each on ebay last April but they seem to be quite rare. The Jetglo black WB models are really nice too. There's a guy on youtube who has had paint jobs done on his Rics and one of them has been done a la weller's Whaam! Rickenbacker guitar and the other has been done in chrome. I'm trying to work out how to change the strings on this 12 string, with the side tuners and recessed headstock tuning pins. On my 6 string I normally take all the strings off but some reckon it's best to do one string at a time to keep the R tailpiece in place and the neck tension the same.

ricks are some of the best made guitars around today probably along with the current Gretsches... a lot of attention to detail, still made in the States and a lot less guitars made than other companies hence them being hard to find. But from what I hear its very hard to come across a dog with the Ricks- the 340s are great though- Christian Bland who plays guitar in The Black Angels has one and it sounds awesome

A mate of mine has one of these, Rose-Morris imported Ricky (note the f-hole rather than 'Teardrop' soundhole) it's an original from the 60's too. i managed to gig it a couple of times, i'm not normally a ricky fan but for rhythm work it sounded fantastic.

I had one of those in black when i was in the Longpigs i loved it,a certain member of that band smashed it up on stage at the Phoenix festival.....i wasn't best pleased to say the least....i shall draw a veil back over that bad memory......lovely guitar......it was used on loads of stuff from the first album

I did once at the Library theatre in a stupid moment of idiocy and i deeply regretted it,it was in the Treebound story days....... the ricky i had was a 1963 english edition 330 with an f hole instead of the slash....
