for years now I've used rack based effects, controlled by midi. After a long, hard think, I've ditched the rack and bought a line6M13 stompbox modeller from Richtone. It's really opened up my playing and use of effects. plus it's got a looper built in.

Saves a fortune on buying the 100+ fx on offer and I defy anyone but the most anal to distinguish the sounds from the original pedals...

tap tempo tremolo, proper tape echo, several compressors, 9 wahs, amazing reverbs, 2 pedals can control *any* paramter, 144 patch locations in each of 4 groups. You can even route some effects straight into the amp, others via the amps FX send/return.

Practically, it's a perfect economical solution - 1 cable in, out to the amp one board fits all and it's slotted into both my rock, ambient and improv gigs with ease.

I'm convinced....

I have had a line6 dl4 delay pedal for years and love it but I have a Digitech RP355 all in one pedal that is just a little less gutsy than my boss analogue effects. Maybe I should check out the Line6 gear. Incidentally I find Native guitar rig 4 pc software very 'gutsy' and can often get more kick out of it on a guitar recording than micing my Wem or Blackstar combo's

I have the line 6 m13 for about a year now and I can honestly say it's a fantastic bit of gear. Johnny Marr is using the the slightly smaller m9. Nuff said

So that makes us 4 better than Johnny Marr - in a Tufnellian sense - good enough!

Nice one Nick, was thinking of getting the even smaller Line 6 M5, got a couple of pedals on my board that i'll probably only use once or twice when gigging (chorus & delay usually) was tempted to get the line 6 instead, i've got the Echo park delay that i usually have set to 'slapback' but sometimes use a longer delay, thinke the M5 would be perfect as i wouldn't have to mess around with settings mid set.
would love the m13 though if i had the money!
