Can snyone reccomend any good amp repairers in or around Sheffield?
My blues junior packed in last night..made some spluttering noises when i switched it in then just got worse/
Checked leads / speaker etc all okay, Valves recently been replaced too so i'm sure it's not them.
Cheers!

thats a no then....
had a quick blast today and took each of the 2 power valves out seperately to see if it was one of them, was still making the same noises so i angled the amp to see if any of the valves were arcing and once i put the amp down it stopped making noises! only seemed to do it once the volume was on past 3, but seemed to calm down after abit.
Gonna take it to practice and give it a go for an hour or so. might just need a bit of switch cleaner!

yeah not sure about that mate but switch cleaner could be the way to go - my old guitar did the same thing and no sound would get through on the bridge pickup at different points along the volume knob, just needed to be cleaned.

If you are still having problems try here. Dave's about 25 mins from Sheffield. He makes amps for the Monkey's. Totally 100% reliable.

Cheers.
Had a blast the other night for an hour and no probs. might have just been a dodgy contact! still going to take a back up to gigs just in case it packs in again.

Glad that it's sorted. But if you have any problems Dave Gascoigne at Rosewell in an amp genius, and has done the work on my Hotrod DeVille and my Tone-Master. Amazing knowledge... also makes some pretty tasty Custom amps... I know the Arctic Monkeys are fans, as well as The Vaccines and Bill Nelson from Be-Bop Deluxe...

Judging by the website it'll be a work of art...

Took my amp to Bedford guitars on Monday and got it back today. really impressed with the workmanship, the valves were running so hot that they had burnt most of printing on the circuit board. the amp tech Michael at basically rewired it at the Valve end, (thats too much technical talk for me). all for 50 quid. gave it a blast tonight and it sounds lovely., really given the amp a new lease of life.
I'd definately recommend them.
They've just done work for the Prodigy, Gomez and Reverend & The Makers to name just a few.
