Hi there,
being new to this forum, I got a question regarding Richard Hawley's guitar sound on "She brings the sunlight": Does anybody know which wah pedal Richard is using on this song? Love the guitar sounds, the guitar breaks made my jaw drop the first time I heard them and they still do...

Love the new album, my favourite record this year!

Really? What is it, then? The Shadow Tone device? Or is it a secret?

Looking forward to seeing you in concert in Munich in October!

I am not the one to answer this for Richard, but I assume he used the DeArmond 610 tone & volume pedal again on this track.

Some information on the pedal, here:

and here:

Ach ja: Willkommen im Forum!

Auch aus Deutschland? :D

Thanks for the information. I remember reading elsewhere in this forum that Richard Hawley also used a Burns Shadowtone (or Shad-o-Tone) to get DeArmond pedal-like sounds... Anyway, I did neither of those pedals expect to sound that way in combination with an overdriven amp. Absolutely great... somewhere between a very subtle wah pedal and a very subtle phaser.

Another word from the man himself on this?

Cheers!

it's a cracking solo! i love the second lead break towards the end where theres some lovely feedback & squeals! whoever is on the front row of the gigs will have to take a pic of the pedalboard(s)!

There's one on eBay in Amsterdam.

It's up at £200 including postage...
