No matter how much I promise myself that I won't spend one penny more on guitars until I learn to play reasonably well, the flesh is weak. For some time I have been thinking of buying one of those guitar kits with all the pieces, more for the sake of learning to assemble it than for the guitar itself. If it ends up being playable, that will be an almost unexpected bonus. I haven't decided how to paint the guitar yet. I've got a couple of ideas, but I think I'll have to simplify them. Anyway, I'm asking you before, in case you know how to achieve what I want. One of the things I was thinking of is painting the guitar with a gradation from one colour to another. But I haven't got the slightest idea how to do so. It seems 'easier' with a paintbrush than with a spray, but I don't know whether that's how it should be done. Another idea is painting it à la Stone Roses, you know, with all those splashes. The problem here is that the few times I've tried to do something like that I've ended up with rounded blotches, not with 'lines'. Any suggestion? |

The best sort of paint in my opinion is Nitro-celluloise lacquer. You need to be able to spray pretty well, but you can buy it pre-mixed in cans. There's a link here that's interesting to read. http://www.manchesterguitartech.co.uk/s ... e-lacquer/ |

Thanks a lot for the advice and the link. I'll try to find that type of lacquer over here, and meanwhile I'll read everything in that website. Don't they always sell the paint in cans with nozzles, ready to spray? |
