Hello everyone,
I'm new to the forum. I was wondering if someone had the chords for "Something is". I'm completely in love with this song, but i'm struggling with it on my guitar. As far as i remember, I only catched C#m and F#m for the verse and Bm for the chorus, but it sounds weird to me.
Thank you for your help!
Ahoj and welcome to the forum, meyro!
I will try a humble attempt to answer your request. For playing "Something is..." I suggest trying these chord shapes (I hope the figures can be understood) for the verse:
E A D G B e (strings)
- - - - - (x) (4th fret) - first chord (Amaj7 ?)
- - - - x -
- - x x - -
and
- - x - - (x) (4th fret) - second chord (Amaj7-something ??)
- - - - x -
- - - x - -
Mute the low E-string with your thumb or just play from the A-string downward (because that seems to be the root note).
Whether the 4th fret high E-string is necessary I am not sure. You can also let it ring (as you will be playing the E note already in these shapes on 5th fret 2nd string, and starting with the plain open Am-shape is much easier when you change to the second chord).
Play these two patterns three times (strumming each of them twice) and then Bm7 and E.
Chorus:
Bm7/// //// Amaj7 /// /// (3 x)
Bm7/ E/ Bm7/ E/ Bm7/ E/ Amaj7 ///
All this may not be exactly what Hawley and/or Shez are doing (you must at least be an octopus anyway to play the three intertwining guitars of the studio version simultaneously), but I remember Richard encouraging us to be creative in this thread somewhere... (as long as it does not end in utter bollocks)
