I've heard nothing but good things about the 5120's, however, I didn't realise there was a new version out so things may have changed.
I was going to get one last year but ended up getting a 6119 Tennessee Rose instead....fabulous guitars. There's a great Gretsch Forum online at www.gretschpages.com I'm sure you will find loads of info there and the people are very helpful as well.

Buying a 5120 is just about the best thing you can do, far as I can see. I got my orange one in January and it's just stunningly good. Feels great, sounds great, looks great.
I'd thoroughly recommend the Gretsch pages for help and advice - these guys (mostly in the US but some in Europe and elsewhere) are incredibly knowledgeable and generous with it - and there's lots of nice pictures and info too.
Only thng about the orange 5120 seems to be availability in the UK - I got mine from Peter Cook in London, but the good guitar shops in my hometown (Glasgow) have had none for months - you can get a sunburst one easy-peasy, but orange is another matter.
I guess it's because the orange model really does come on like a (much) lighter-on-the-pocket 6120, which has to be THE Gretsch to beat all. From Eddie Cochran to Poison Ivy - you know it makes sense![/img]

actually I kinda prefer the one with the white pic guard, Its a machine of great beauty, I kid you not I spent about half an hour in sound control just staring at that guitar, they even offered me a cup of tea.
