You're right Luke, John did play one, although I didn't know he used it on Let It Be, interesting. I knew he used one on The White Album though, both he and George used it for some bass lines and George also played one in the Hey Jude video.

I believe you can see him playing it in the video of the recording sessions of let it be - he played it instead of a normal bass on the songs "long and winding road" and "let it be" - and he plays it is some of the jams and old rock and roll songs that they play on there too.

Now you mention it, I can picture seeing him playing it in the film now. I seem to remember him playing it on Dig It, maybe I'm wrong. Nice one Luke, nice to know there is always more Beatles trivia to learn. By the way, I've been on your site and I really like your stuff, I'm heavily into Tom Waits at the moment and nice to meet a fellow fan.

tom waits is the man - we agree on that :D and cheers for listening to my songs, thankyou :)

yep, Lennon played the Fender VI on Dig It, you are right. He was strumming it too, so i assume it's very much muddy, low chords you'd get doing that.

Still one-sighted 'cos got bloody contact in that have failed to scoop out. What do I mean? Friday night. Wine. You seriously expect a coherent answer?! Am hoping for an all femme rockabilly band to reverberate around this forum.
