I've been to see this guy a couple of times, he lives round the corner from me in Cheadle, Cheshire. He set up my garrison acoustic guitar and i have to say it was money very well spent, you don't get any bullshit from him and he offers great advice. The guitars he makes are, to use a hawleyism. BOSS.

Check his website www.gedgreen.co.uk....there are some good tutorials on there too about stuff a basic as stringing your guitar properly.

He told me he had a vague connection with RH, something about supplying some gypsy guitars for someone who knew someone who knew Hawley.

Cheadle is not too far from me, and I go to see Sale Sharks in Stockport as often as I can.

One of the tuning pegs on my acoustic guitar is broken, maybe he can do something with it.

Hi as a professional guitar player there is only one guy I'd trust to repair and set up any guitar / stringed instrument and that is ME...! But if I can't fettle it, this guy can and is IMHO the best in the north http://www.tomsonguitars.co.uk/ I've been to a few over my playing years and Richard is the real deal and won't rip you off If it don't need fixing it won't get fixed. Good pies in Wigan too.
Just had my Strat fret dressed prior to another session in the studio / CD release on the 17th and 18th it plays like silk.

Ged's an amazing chap. He's just converted my Gibson L-4CES from humbuckers to these Seymour Duncan Alnicos that are the same as were fitted to Gibson Archtops in the mid-'50's.

The standard fitted Gibson humbuckers are wider than Alnicos so Ged carved two Ebony risers that matched the arch of the top also covering the gaps each side of the pickup and then mounted the pickups on those. A very neat job - looks factory original in fact - '50's Gibsons with P90s/Alnicos always had wooden risers under the bridge pickup.

He's very reasonable with his prices too. He's currently restoring a 1959 Hofner Club 40 for me.
