Heck ... I'm seriously impressed with that photo, Dave!

I know he's more well known for the strange stuff but one of my favourite films of all time is the one he made about the guy who rides on a John Deere lawnmower to Wisconsin to see his brother. Can't remember what it was called. It was really different

Yes, that's the one.

I've seen it a few times and it really is a beautiful, gentle film, which, on the surface is quite simple but actually has great depth.

Oh, thanks CB - I'd love to see the film on a big screen as I've only seen it on DVD in the past - unfortunately Brighton's just a little bit too far for me but I will definitely keep a look out for something a bit closer to where I'm living.

Hi Strangeman! I saw Elephant man when it first came out (seems a long time ago - was it the early 80s or late 70s?) and really enjoyed it - another one based on a real person.

I've also seen Mulholland Drive and Lost Highway - both very different and thought provoking - and a little disturbing? Yes, I agree the man is a genius.

Still can't believe you've actually met him, Dave!
