I don't think it's the rose-tinted nostalgic view to say that this is better than 99% of stuff that gets released today

Mighty....just mighty

RIP Pete

Can't let it end before pointing folk in the direction of this

Filmed on a stifling July evening at the RAH in 1983. I was fortunate enough to be there to see them in their absolute prime. Still kills me.....

Took me right back that did, hadn't heard that track in ages.

I remember seeing a great performance in the Metropol in Berlin in the mid-eighties. Wow, loooong time ago....

(shuffles off, feeling quite elderly) :*:

Now then, talking about things taking you back .. the Metropol ... that's a blast from the past. I remember seeing Curiosity Killed the Cat there in the mid/late eighties (oh dear, should I admit to that on this thread?) :?

Am I right in believing that the Longpigs toured America with the Bunnymen about ten years ago? Messy by chance?

I saw the Bunnymen play Marsh Lane Community Centre, Bootle, in about 1990. Odd gig. It was a very rough place.

The place was later closed down because it was awash with drugs and is now a Just Doors store.

McCulloch and Sergeant playing at Just Doors? Is that where Mr H got the idea to perform at B&Q every Sunday afternoon?

The band I was in at the time played at the opening of the B&Q Superstore on Queens Road in Sheffield a few years back.

Oddest gig I've ever done - they had us playing halfway down an aisle & people were wandering past with trolleys full of paint & stuff all afternoon.

There was also a stiltwalker.

Could they not get Men at Work, Bonnie Tiler or Prefab Grout?

Yes, I know they're all 1980s - but so am I....
