Sweet story:

But...not far-fetched at all, considering those records were a big part of his memory and he'd be the person who would buy them.

I'm a hunter-gatherer, and I constantly donate (and try to sell) things. And I've had a few come back to haunt me. Let's not talk about the guitar that brought barely $120, with a price tag of ten times that amount a few years later.

One thing I've found that's been really cool is that many of the interesting 60s era records I've found at area sales have had the same women's name on them. I'm endlessly fascinated with this person who bought so much then, and such a wide variety.

That's a very touching story.

That's reminded me of a newspaper report I read. In wartime an orphan girl was adopted by a strictly religious couple. The mother made the little girl give her favourite toy - a rag doll - to the church, as this would be 'good for her soul' to give up something she loved. The girl grew up hating the woman. Years later, as an elderly lady herself, she found her rag doll at a jumble sale, and bought it back for a few pence.
