I don't think I've seen this site mentioned here. It's a very basic site and you have to do alot of 'prodding' around, but there is some really great stuff here.

Some of the photographs are just brilliant.

i was once hitchhiking to london to see bo diddley

i got a lift from an older gent who i found, from conversation, was a safety officer for BP. he asked what i was doing in london so i told him i was going to see bo diddley, thinking he wouldn't have a clue.

he said "oh if you see him, say hello from barry, i used to know him in the 60's"

blimey i replied, how's that then ?

oh i used to do gigs with him, i was vince taylor.

wow i said, brand new cadillac ?

yes he replied, i did that every night. i wasn't really vince taylor, i got the job after he went off the rails. they gave me his leather suit and said " there you go, you're Vince Taylor now"

btw, bo was fantastic, as ever.

Vince Taylor is a bit of a legend in my house. The bloke went nuts though didn't he? Apparently towards the end of his life he used to wake up, make himself an omelette, sit in a chair all day, get up, make himself another omelette for tea, and then go to bed... everyday. :(

He was VERY big in France too.

Morrissey often includes VT videos in his pre-gig compilations, including this one - towards the end, when he gets close to the camera (it's not the best video rip) the Moz resemblance is striking.
