I've done some volunteer work in historic cemetery preservation, you wouldn't believe the things people will nick from cemeteries. We even had some graves dug up a few years ago, all old soldiers so we reckon whoever did it was looking for things like war relics and medals. Never did catch the bastards who did it, I would have loved to have got my hands on them.
