Hey, steady on Mr H. Jeff Stelling on Sky Sports on a Saturday afternoon from 3pm to 4.50pm is top telly. The best.

It's almost as good as watching the footy scores on teletext. Red card for Hawley!!

Yeah, this is the best thing on TV August to May but what about June and July? That's when there is fuck all on. :?

I have Sky so have about 400+ channels to chose from even I struggle to find something to watch after 9pm.

Good reasons not to turn the TV off completely

The Wire
Generation Kill (brilliant new Iraq war thing by the makers of the above)
Dexter
Battlestar Galactica (the new version is mostly excellent)
Peep Show
The Shield
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Louis Theroux
Jon Ronson
Some of the C4 Cutting Edge docs

+ over the last few years there's been

The Sopranos
Sleeper Cell
Six Feet Under
Deadwood
State Of Play

etc etc, there's probably more I'm forgetting

In other words some of the best drama & comedy *ever*. Pity most of it American though, we don't have a clue it seems.

I'm not one to veg out in front of the TV, I'll switch on when there's something I know I want to watch, because most of it, granted, is terrible. Just like most music & films are. But looking at that list & comparing it to the mostly junk that come out at the cinema over the same period of time (probably 3 or 4 out & out classics?) I know which I'd pick if I had to. So there :*:

Gavin and Stacey is superb. I missed it completely on TV but I have caught up with the first series on DVD.

Afraid I gave up half way through that. Wasn't much for the bands I saw & the adverts every three minutes were most annoying :?

It was rubbish, you missed nothing unless you like Pete Pipehead, The Racconteers or some other idiots who indulged in some musical masterbation! .....Even morrissey was rubbish!

Saw Babyshambles...Am I missing something deeply artistic & profound here, or were they just some scruffy blokes who'd blundered in.. :eh?

Yeah...we have an ugly old decripit TV set..that now only has half a picture......................it needs time to warm up.....................it seems to me that people are obsessed with their TVs....................everytime I visit a friend they want to show me their new 2000" plasma TV.....and I feel obliged to marvel at it's greatness...but all the time I'm thinking (Why the hell do you need this bloody hideous tv...)
I'll sometimes watch ours..........................but only if I'm desperate, the radio is much more informative and interesting............

Some TV is alright - I'm watching Rising Damp at the moment - the bailiffs are removing the furniture from Rigsby's room while he's talking to his lady friend - very funny! :D
