Someone will respond to your turn of phrase Ida, it may as well be me!

When you say carrot juice 'keeps you going' - do you mean it keeps you invigorated, or keeps you going in the same sense as All-Bran, or prunes ......?

I drink decaf (I'm an old caffeine junky not allowed to have it, but I can't give up the taste). But I love carrot juice in the morning as well Ida... go figure, thought I was the odd one on that.

As for at night what keeps me up is an overactive mind that is too easily overstimulated into endless trains of thought that split and dance and twist and twine ad infinitum and must be followed to the end .... or until I physically can't stay awake.

And just for you - non-traditional flavours now on sale..........

Brown ale scones on teatime menu

The traditional teatime scone could become a thing of the past
Customers at a Northumberland seafront cafe are being offered a palate -tickling choice of scones at teatime.

They may sample a Newcastle Brown ale scone, or a mince and onion flavour, or a chilli, or a ginger and pineapple - or even a Turkish Delight.

These are just a few of the 67 different flavoured scones on the menu.

Nibbles café at Newbiggin now plans to go into the mail order business after visitors from abroad e-mailed demanding supplies of the exotic delicacies.

And owners Colin and Jacqui Nevin are contacting the Guinness Book of Records to register their culinary achievement.

Jacqui, a 54-year-old grandmother of seven, said she became bored with baking traditional fruit or cheese scones and decided to experiment with more unusual ingredients.

Now she bakes six or seven batches - about 150 a day - selling them at 90p per scone.

"I will try a new flavour and put a few up for sale," she said.

"If they do well I will bake a batch and freeze them."

The couple have only been in their present cafe for two years but Colin said many people come in especially to try the exotic scones.

"We are becoming known all over the country and getting requests from around the world," he said.

The couple are not sure what category the Guinness records book could put them in - but a Guinness-flavoured scone will surely follow.

My aunt swears by the fact that now that she no longer drinks refrigerated water she has extra energy during the day. I don't know how that would work exactly or how she made the connection.

As for me personally.. I've had to go on sleeping pills to drift off, so I guess the answer to your question would be my mind. :D
