Too much time on my hands

Oh Disney-time, I've seen that happen, and it's awful!

It happened to my sister and her husband, as they were waiting to see the obstetrician, in their mid-thirties, as Phds. Some woman started ranting on about teen parents towards them. The receptionist noticed it and made a point to announce, "Dr. and Dr. H, the doctor will see you now."

:*: I'm liking the sound of that receptionist... It's so small-minded. I'm just babysitting. As much as I love them, and I really do, I am nothing but a big cousin. It happens all the time, though. They just jump to conclusions and try to enforce their views on everyone... And offend my little Toni :*:

I love them :D Children are great - so trusting and full of promise and hope and love. And they like me too 8)

Luke, you've edited your post about the children so now it looks like I said I love screaming kids

So, to clarify: I don't especially mind them, and I'm reasonably good at pacifying most of them, but the not screaming ones are more fun.

Nope :D I mean they're more fun. I love them to bits. Not all of them, obviously, but as a rule they're lovely little people to be around. Young children are wonderful - they accept you exactly as you are, and aren't afraid to tell the truth and ask uncomfortable questions. And the trust in a baby's eyes when he / she looks up at you is an unbelievable feeling...

And not even almost the point of this thread

Errors in spelling "apostrophes" REALLY annoy me

 Oh how embarrassing, but it was the middle of the night, and not my own keyboard. O.K no excuses.

People who end their sentences 'at the end of the day' annoy me, especially when the incident did not happen at the end of the day. Another one is 'he turned around and said...' I imagine people spinning before they speak which would be quite entertaining.

O.K. all nicely spell checked. :D

sorry to be all lexiconic but i'm sure that expression comes from the days of the plague when people were a little paranoid of breathing in germs. I'm sure it's something along those lines but I may need to consult Mr Fry about this!

Stephen Fry mentioned the phrase on Room 101, and he's ranted about it somewhere else as well... Didn't mention the origins, but did say it annoyed him :*: And that if one was to turn around as often as these people claimed, they'd feel quite ill.

Edit: It gets on my nerves too. My uncle says it all the time, and the drunker he gets, the more the people in his stories seem to spin...
