Available but don't install it yet as it seems to have lots of problems (what a surprise).

Although I would add that, as a recent convert to a 'imac' its not been a problem and it's working away quite happily. So not sure if this is just a hiccup with running it on non-apple kit :eh? (or that I just use it in a very basic way?)

I've not downloaded yet, but as I was looking at the App store tonight for my iPhone, the screen changed, all the photos became blank boxes with a broken chain in them, all the text was huge. So I headed over to the Apple discussions place to see if anyone else had that and discovered lots of comments about music stop starting and assorted other things.

I usually don't have a problem when I download but not in the mood today or tomorrow to encounter any kind of problem with it.

I assume this contains the software to make the new Shuffle talk back at you. Cute little thing, but for the time being you are stuck with the headphones that come with it and they will not be all that good.

That don't sound good. I'll keep a wary eye open for any glitches.

Is it me or are we heading down the road of kit (the new shuffle) becoming so small that we'll lose it 'cos we can't see it? :?

Further reading shows that people have been unable to buy anything from the iTunes store, and that Apple admitted there was a problem with 8.1.

Some people's music libraries have become damaged.

Hope whatever they are doing also fixes the bug in the App Store - when you check for new updates there's always four or five, none of which are new updates.

That Shuffle is very tiny, I did try the original shuffle but I'm afraid I do like to have a screen so I can see what I am playing.

I've got a similar headphone set for the iPhone (but with the smaller ear plugs that go inside the ear) and it is great having the remote so discrete. But fiddly having to press it twice to more forward a track, 3 times to move back as it doesn't always recognise you've pressed it twice.

I lost the whole of my music library upgrading once. Luckily I had it all on an ipod as backup so I was able to reinstall it. Becareful with any iTunes upgrade.

Shit, shit, shit...wish I had seen this earlier. I downloaded it last week, started that genius thing and now not only has my itunes reverted itself back to 8.0 :eh? :eh?
but half my fucking music has disappeared!!! I don't know what happened. I backed it all up about 3 months ago so most of it is on my seagate but it's still a complete pain.

I've put it on my laptop and synched my old iPod Touch to it and that has been fine but I'm still damn wary of putting it on the PC mainly because I have the iPhone and don't want to mess that up.

There's a lot of us in my office with the iPhone and of those who've already downloaded 50% have no problem, 50% have.

Is your music totally gone from your machine itself or just not showing in iTunes? I've got my itunes set to copy all music into the iTunes folder and then I delete it from any other folder it may be in.

I can't find the missing songs anywhere on my computer, the folders are still there but when I open them up they are completely empty...as far as I can tell the songs imported from cd's and bought from itunes are all still there, but all my emusic downloads and lives stuff etc I've downloaded off the internet is gone. The emusic isn't such a big deal since once you've bought songs from them you can download them as often as you want, but I lost some good live stuff  .
I am all paranoid, I feel like Itunes is editing my library and removing anything that might not be kosher

As the iTunes chief of police I can confirm that anything that isn't kosher is being removed from your pc. At least that does mean you get to keep the Barbara Streisand..........

I hate iTunes - don't use it myself but am regularly called upon to make sense of the crap for my son (and I though these teenagers were meant to know everything about "gadgets" )...

You will be happy to hear all the kinks and pogues stuff you sent me was confiscated
Thankfully I backed up after you sent it.
And the Barbra Streisand I can live without but don't take away my ELO!!
