I'll go & spend the day with my Mum, but I do like coming home to the peace & quiet of my house - not that my Mum is noisy or anything, but there's always that stress of 'is the turkey too dry, did I do too many sprouts...' to get through. I have suggested fish & chips, but she won't hear of it :*:

oh i really don't mind being on my own, i'm definitely working on christmas eve and boxing day - I'll be out with pals after work on both days so it's no big deal.

I'll be more than making up for it at new year!

Same here and it's my sons second Christmas so cannot wait!!

I used to love Christmas when my son was this age. Having a toddler around made it so magical. Now he is 15, most of the magic has worn off. No more Santa, carrots for the reindeers left on the yard, setting up lots of toys in the early hours of Christmas morning.

Last Christmas, he had a new computer. I spent much of the day, and a couple of days after, pissing aroung getting stuff installed, and configuring routers etc. I do this sort of thing for a living, so it turned into a real 'busman's holiday' - not good. For Christmas dinner we had a balti, and I managed to watch 'Evil Dead' on DVD after. Then it was back to computer chores.

Give me back the days of playing with his Lego, and playing with infantile toys any day!

Cheers, Steve.

I personally have made a solemn vow, not to even use the toilets in a McDonalds.

Anyway, back to Christmas. I'm definately working Christmas day. We got 60 covers for Christmas dinner so far and my boss is trying to get that up to 80.

Don't ask me how.

I'm off to see my son in Wisconsin this year as he has a significant birthday on Christmas Day (and I'm not saying how old he is as it's incriminating - I was a child bride :*: ).
