Due to finances, i'm really cutting back this christmas. I'm trying to do a few handmade things with my recently aquired skills with needle and thread (no sniggering at the back!!!), but me mam and dad has already said they'll be well annoyed if me or my brothers get them anything as we're all in the same boat. It'll be prezzies for the kids and Sophie and that'll be about it! :santa:

That's made me feel ill

There'd be a few stern words if anyone was daft enough to send me 1 this early!!!

Like sunflower, I am nearly done with shopping, as I hate busy shops. Shops are bad enough without people in them

I've bought virtually all my gifts, but I feel I must encourage you all to go to the shops and spend your money - lots of mega days coming up (and for those who are near a John Lewis store don't forget they match those mega day prices).

Nah. I never hit a woman in a Dufflecoat. Anyway, I've done all my shopping too. You might hit me back.

Nah, I'm same, nearly done. Don't mind working in a shop at all but shopping at this time of year sends me into a rage :P

I'm not shopping in any shops again this year. Presents for Mum on the internet, and obligatory biscuits & booze from the Co-op for the folks at work. Reluctantly went into town on saturday just before the shops closed - so it would be quiet, in the hope of getting a couple of things quickly. Didn't realise it was the Christmas lights switch on  Squawking children & surly parents all over the place - and nowhere to park. Aarrggh

its going to be a different chrimbo for a lot of us this year with not having much cash around. Lets face it its got really commercial and pretty sick anyway with the amount that people spend. We have cut right back and I know my kids are really short and are trying to get presents for everyone. I have told them that as long as we all together that will be the best thing I could wish for. I reckon without the cash we will all have a more meaningful christmas and really see what it should be about. I remember when one of my kids made me a christmas present a few years back - best thing I had that year - really precious and I'll keep it for ever.

i am looking forward to crimbo, despite the rampant and somewhat desperate commercialism of this time of year i do enjoy time with the family and friends i think the best way to enjoy it is to keep things simple. It'll be me,our lass and the bin lids crimbo then off to see our mates for new year to share a mince pie and a thousand bottles of ale.........ace..no mobiles no computers no gigs no bollocks....well apart from my own

I like Christmas, mainly because it's the one time I get to spend time at home, doing things, and doing nothing, quietly :D Increasingly these days I find all the rigmarole that gets forced on you a bit wearing.

Yup, it's just lovely being with the family and no work, no cleaning etc just relaxing and being together. My husband keeps saying he's worried cos he can't buy me a lot, I keep saying it's not about that at all but he won't listen!!!!!

works out great for us this year, four days off in a row over Christmas and the same again over new years which is unusual, normally its just Christmas Day and New Years Day we get off. gonna chill out, spend time with family, get drunk eat good food and get drunk. As far as presents go.. gonna get my folks shit loads of holiday vouchers as they had to cancel two trips this year because of bad health. between me and mates we've always had a tradition of just buying each other a CD, something different that we wouldnt listen to usually. not a big Xmas fan but looking forward to it this year since I have some time off to enjoy it.
