fucks sake, how can chemo seem worse than the disease itself? she's in bits from the side effects, going to have to take her back to hospital. at least it's working and thank god work have been so good as i'm having to care for her now.

two chavs tried to mug my son tonight too. he twatted one of them and they legged it. could have been worse. i am so fucking tired. :(

Chuffin' 'ell MPH, it never rains and all that. I know it most be really
difficult to take the positives out of your current situation, but they are
there.

Chin up and all the best to you and yours.

Oh poor her and poor you! My other half's father is having chemo and has been hospitalised three times. We've been so worried about him but the consultant insists that him being so ill shows the chemo is working. Try to stay positive darling and give her a big hug from me. xx

Chemo is horrible my sense of taste went completely. Going to receive the treatment was awful knowing I would feel bad immediately, but it was worth the distress, I am still here. May I recommend Spatone Iron Plus, it is from a spa in North Wales where there is soluble iron in the water. It tastes bit metallic but there are no nasty side effects as with iron tablets.

mph - stick with it, the battle is worth fighting.

Sadly today was the funeral of a friend who fought hard, and gained 10 years which enabled her to see her children reach their late teens, and reunited her with her husband and going through a second marriage to him. Someone asked me the other day if it was worth going through the treatment because it is unpleasant - for my friend it definitely was.

It's a roller coaster, up one week down the next. I'm going to visit a friend who lives in Reading in a week or two, two years ago she rang me and asked if I was sitting down, then she told me, she'd found a lump, been for a biopsy, told it was breast cancer. Two years on she's been through the mill, mastectomy, lost her long beautiful hair, horrendous chemo after effects.
She's been doing a degree in social work and bringing up three teenagers on her own at the same time as going through all that! She has just sat her finals and been given the all clear. I am in awe of her.

Keep your chin up Mick, you'll come through it and out the other side mate. Don't forget where I am if there's anything i can do let me know. x

thanks everybody, bit of a low point last night. she's been a bit chirpier today and has had a bollocking from the nurse for not eating and drinking. got to keep remembering that it's working and be positive. :D

I know it's a mouldy old cliche, but things always seem at their blackest in the small hours. Keep plodding through, take care of each other x

reduced chemo by 15% and it kicks in a day early and her nails start dropping off. i'm not naive enough to think that it would fix everything but i didn't think it would get worse. i know there's light at the end of the tunnel but fuck me, it seems a long way off at the minute. she can't eat, drink or barely move again. i'm really sorry for moaning but it's gut wrenching seeing her like this, day after day.
