You too love, wrap up warm, although I'm told it's been cracking the flags today, I wouldn't know, spent most of it in bed. I was beginning to think I'd escaped, went all winter without being ill.....thanks RP x

Hope you manage to shake it off - mine's been hanging around nastily for a fortnight.

Oh no Denise, it's going around....get well soon all afflicted.
It's cracking the flags here again and I'm looking out of my window from my sick bed, wistfully gazing at the people walking their dogs in the park. Wishing I were out there with them......

This down graded to a mild cold but now, in time for the weekend, has become tonsillitis which is most unpleasant.

I'm quite surprised that there hasn't been some sort of national news story, i.e. as with swine flu as there seems to be noticeably more people suffering with throat-related illness. My school has been hit, with exactly the symptoms described by Kate and Denise, appearing in staff and pupils alike - and everyone who's had it (me included) hasn't been able to shake it off for ages - over three weeks in my case. Reading of folks suffering on here suggests an epidemic.

I'm the sixth in our office to get it, each of us got a sore throat one week which went after 2-3 days, some then thought they had colds due to coughs, sneezing - I didn't seem to get anything once the throat stopped. And then a week later back it came with a vengeance.

I'm not even sure I should be on anti biotics as they only work on the bacterial type of tonsillitis andonly reduce the illness by one day but the walk in centre gave me them so fingers crossed they will work.

The sore throat is abymsal, diffiult to eat or drink and I can't talk - and thanks to BT doing something to my internet connection (which is not with BT), I have no internet and stuck using my phone for net access - fine for occasional use out and about but no substitute for a computer.
