I think that a few of my more vocal colleagues have already spoken to the managers about this. That's the managers at our place of work (not supposed to name it on social media - had a guy called Pat work there once, cat lover...) not the agency. Doubt they'll want to get involved however. Although many of the team leaders play hell when presented with hordes of newcomers, as obviously they're inexperienced. Hopefully we can all ride this one out. Those of us who've now been there a few years love the job. Not in a union myself & unsure about the others. And there's always that fear of not wanting to shout too loud, because if you do you end up on 'standby' all the more!

Sorry to hear, Josie & Helen, you're both on the wrong end of redundancy. Sounds like you're turning it into something positive though.

I am currently feeling utterly vile with yet another case of the dreaded Lurg....went to the BBC radio awards Sunday....( me and Tony Pitts both got nominated for the Monster radio play he wrote,we didn't win anything but it was really nice to be invited and be part of it and we met some really ace people)....i started feeling a bit odd during that but by Monday morning eeeurgh....it's totally pole axed me out of the blue....i f"""""g HATE being ill.....

Hot desking, a policy I fucking hate because it means that sometimes I come to work and discover I'm sitting next to a shithead, also results in overfamiliar contact with diseased people. Some Hoxton beardy young bloke has taken to choosing to sit next to me and he's mostly full of cold/has the shits/has a chest full of phlegm, with the added complication of genetic dullness. I find my general sympathy for sick people has dramatically reduced as a direct consequence – there's only so much flobbing and snotting and sneezing a woman can take. Need to take a deep breath and breathe – just need to make sure it's not full of snot...x

Next time someone moans about foreigners coming to this country, show them this...
