It's on the iPlayer. I saw it through a Ikea-induced gin-haze in the early hours, after spending all day getting a desk for my son so he can revise for his mocks... socialism for the bankers, capitalism for the steel industry and barbarism for poor c**ts like me, trying to put together a fucking desk at midnight with a shitty piece of bent metal and loads of ill fitting chipboard... xxx

My photo got chosen by Olympus (the camera and electrical goods company) as their photo of the day :)

Taken on a pocket compact camera.

Unbelievable weather this week. Absolutely beautiful, it's like 60°F right now, it's going to be 72 on Wednesday. All the windows open, sunshiny, and a heavenly breeze. Going for a long walk later and some errand-running, I will think of any excuse possible to stay out today. I know it's not supposed to be this way but given our interminable Hoth-like winters, I'll take it. Thanks, global warming!

I'm about to wet my pants. My old bookshop partners in crime (aka "Team Awesome") and I have just spontaneously planned a huge get together right after Christmas! People are coming from some distance for this. I think with partners/spouses and kids it's going to be almost 40 people. Just relaxing and potlucking and drinking with old, dear friends. We used to have regular get-togethers after the bookshop closed, and we went out all the time when we were working together. When you love the people you work with those bonds are strong and never broken. If you are that lucky, then it's really not like work at all. We couldn't wait to see each other every day. We know how rare it is and how fortunate we are to have each other no matter what! We're all frantically messaging each other on Facebook trying to decide what to bring and suchlike. No matter how far-flung we get, we are thick as thieves, and we truly think of each other as family. What an amazing Christmas gift this will be. :-) Team Awesome rides again! :Hoorah

I saw an elsebound train, on the overpass
In the driving rain, every ticket costs the same
For where you can't go
Mustang horses, champagne glasses
Anything frail anything wild
It's the price of living motion, what's beautiful is broken
And grace is just the measure of a fall.

Last craft show of the year was Sunday, total pandemonium. :-) Always bittersweet to get to the last one, usually shows don't pick up again until March or April. Spend that time retooling and incorporating new things, taking out stuff that didn't work, doing more consignments, shit like that. There's plenty to do. I usually have a total body collapse after the last one but this time I only got a little cold! :-) I love my fellow crafties here, awesome community. So many sweet and talented people and I'm fortunate to know them! I won't lie though, I'm taking a break for a few days, brain is fried.
