Wotcha! I haven't been on here for ages. How is everyone? Really liking the look of this gig with Richard and James Dean Bradfield. That's two of my heros right there!

I've just finished my first year of being a primary school teacher. Bring on the holidays!

Also, i've got a new record out - bit of a garage sound this time. For those who are interested have a watch of this and let me know if you like it. X

That works, I'll delete your original post so people just see the working link.

Pleased to say that my mum, who has Alzheimer's, is now living only round the corner from me, after her house move from 15 miles away. Thanks go to Social Services, for their considerable lack of empathy for her situation & who provided the minimum help they could get away with, for her care. Half an hour daily to microwave something unpleasant & forget to give her any medication half the time & the helpful advice that going to a day centre would solve most of her problems.
Proper thanks go to the couple of carers who went out of their way to actually engage with my mum, & the removals men, who, without fuss, got the stressful business of house shifting turned around within a couple of hours, with no swearing, noise or damage. Oh, yes, and the milk delivery people who missed the point that ''final delivery on Tuesday, please'' meant that we wanted milk & bread delivered ON TUESDAY. Oh yes, and Auntie, who's put up with a lot this week ..>

Been there Lofty. We had carers in for my dad in his last weeks and they were incredible people. My mum had Alzheimer's too and she was in a home - and again, we got lucky as she was brilliantly looked after and just round the corner from my sister. Glad you've got your mum close.

Thanks Nick, I'm hoping the house move will benefit both of us. At the moment however it's thrown mum into more confusion with all the upheaval. I'm really worried about when I go back to work & she has to spend the night on her own for the first time at the new place, because she's lost the plot altogether this week.

Hello again everyone! Great to 'see' you all again. :)
What's making me happy right now? Listening to 'Standing on the Sky's Edge' LOUD on my new music system. Finally got around to treating myself to a decent one and I'm hearing instrumentation I never knew was on there! Majestic. And what a great way to start a cold grey Tuesday....

Mum spent the night in hospital again - at a time when beds are scarce and hospitals are rammed, the NHS yet again came up trumps, saw her quickly and looks like she is on the mend. At 89, a year ago she had a stroke which she came through miraculously, this time it was heart problems. Main kudos to my youngest sister who drops everything to be with my parents when needed and spent the evening at the hospital with mum, and reports that resus is an awful place to be.

She's not out of the wood completely but things are looking better than this time yesterday,
