Thanks chooch! A tad bit nervous but, fuck it, they'd be mad not to employ me, right?...

Hope they are worthy of you Helen. I think herbal tea is all that's allowed now but if you try a stiffener it will be useful to know how they take it!

Hope it went well - if you got it, well done - if you didn't, then they're stupid...

Thank you darlings. I am happy to report that, despite being two weeks from 50 and recently redundant, I got the job. First application and interview in 29 years. Cheered me right up. Life in the old dog yet. Xxxxx

Thanks lovelies. It was meant to say 20 years, not 29, predictive text nonsense. And gin was had and I am very chuffed. It's a nice pre-50 pressie for me and much more of a boost than an invitation to the over 50s tea dance... xxx

Well done Helen! I can empathise, having been made redundant in my 50's. I had the chutzpah to go out there and get another job. (But truth be told, if I looked the the job description of the job I do now, I'd be afraid to apply!)

Whomever has taken you on, they should think themselves truly lucky :D

Went to buy second class stamps at the Post Office yesterday, only to be told they'd run out & there wouldn't be any until Wednesday :? First time I've ever heard of that
