big-up for ringo here. I think his drumming was an important part of the beatles sound solid and quirky, unique in it's own way. Thought he was quite funny on the JR show as well...

poor old Ringo, he must have been getting writers crap from doing all them autographs, can't be easy at his age, still its most likely wankers cramp coming out with shit like ... " I'm warning you with peace and love I have too much to do " give yourself a kick up the bollocks and join us in the real world Ringo.

i will play devils advocate here......if you had been signing autographs in the amounts he has for 50 years you would get a bit pissed off with it however he could deal with it in a better way................he's not winning any friends or garnering respect is he?maybe he just doesn't care anymore? On one level i understand it on another i think its a bit mean, but maybe he just wants a quiet life.......on a world tour its not goin to happen though is it?its not like he's retired is it?Then i could TOTALLY understand it,if he was saying right thats it,i will live out my life quietly till the end fair do's but come on........still rockin at his age...........it means you have to put up with all the other shit that goes with it i think personally.

why not come out and say... look folks the amount is just too much, I cant cope, sorry but at this point in my life I have other stuff I want to do, please understand, etc, love Ringo *insert the old \/* The hilarious thing is that he set himself a deadline of the 20th October so every fucker in the meantime is going to be sending him in stuff to sign that will end up on ebay as one of Ringo's last signatures or somthin. The mail service will be sending em in the the truckload. mad get.

I must admit I don't really understand autographs...I mean why? Each to his own I suppose, but it makes me think of the little kids at Disneyworl who buy the autograph books and run around the park looking for the ultimate score....Mickey who always has a queue a mile long....friar tuck on the other hand, stands around looking all forlorn.
Do celebrities miss the attention when they are no longer sought out I wonder?

Ansd since I am already almost completely off topic I watched Chapter 27 last night about the complete twat who shot John Lennon and I just knew I shouldn't watch it, that it would send me into a tizzy, not like I didn't know how it was going to end but...fucking people, i'd be terrified to be famous.

I'm with you, don't do autographs myself they just don't mean a whole lot. For the kids its different I guess to have something from your hero even so small as a bit of paper they scribbled on means a lot . The only thing I have an autographed Joe Strummer LP, Earthquake Weather, I value it more as an LP for the music on it and cause its so mega rare, you can't even get it on CD than for the scrawl, which ok makes it a bit different and interesting I guess, anyway I'm rambling now

Is Chapter 27 the one with Jared Leto as Chapman? I watched that recently as well, total downer.
