They were giving out advice on the telly this morning about keeping a note of when you tried, what the fault was, how long it took etc............... so you can give the proof the money grabbing devils when they try and fine you for late submission...............

I finally submitted the return at 2.55 am

My own fault for leaving it until the last minute ... but I still tried before the deadline!

They've extended the deadline to midnight tonight as they accept it was their fault. You would think they would anticipate that the majority of people will always wait till the last day.

It's so time consuming. Although the actual online completion is fairly straightforward, you have to collate so much information beforehand; it really is a chore. I reckon that I have spent about 9 hours compiling all of the answers they require, plus about four hours trying to access the site

Yeah, it's a bastard that they only give you a few days short of 10 months to sort it out.

A deadline is a deadline. It shouldn't matter how close to that deadline the submission is made. I object to being an unpaid accountant for the Inland Revenue, but I also object to having to pay an accountant to do it for me! :*:

:*: :*:

I used to leave mine until January and then I fucked up, sent it in late and was fined.

Do it in April - or whenever the start of your new tax year is. I just want to get it out of the way rather than keep putting it off now...
