It annoys me beyond all sense of reasonable proportion this. I quite like this guy, he's done a couple of good films & seems like an amiable chap. But good god it's a wonder my TV has not had my foot put through it.. Didn't the 2 Star Wars films he was in put enough money in the bank or something?

Mixed comments on there (apart from the guy who is so repetetive about wanting the song title), but the one that is currently at the top sums it up really.

It's horrible.

I thought it was a joke when I saw it on the tele.

He can't act (only half decent thing he was in was 'Lipstick on your collar') and I can't stand that horrible poncey middle class accent of his .

I saw the add for the first time last night and thought it was going to be an add for another of that series he on SKY but fuckin hell is he that hard up, by all accounts a very personable bloke and a decent actor in my book anyway, a bit miffed to see him do this sort of thing to say the least. :?

I was expecting his motorbike boyfriend Charley Boorman to appear in it - Ewan and him walking hand in hand into the sunset . :?

Sorry to be a pedant, but it does underline your point even more - he was actually in three star wars films. ;)

Likewise I seen the ad last night and rolled my eyes at it - but I tend to do that a lot when I watch the telly these days. It has all the pretense of those Puff Daddy perfume ads, without the unintentional humour.

I think he's alright actually. Those Star Wars "prequels" are not exactly actors' vehicles and yet he was quite good in them (look at Natalie Portman for the opposite example - fine actress, crappy performance).

I don't care if he's advertising cologne. Most don't seem to mind when actresses like Isabella Rossellini or Angelina Jolie do it. Why should we care of a man does?

I say all of this not having seen the TV ads, of course.

the link to the ad is in my orig post. have a look, if you don't get the slightest bit annoyed by it then I can only say I hugely respect your zen like calm. I do get annoyed when actors hawk products in general no matter who they are, they get paid enough doing what they normally do & it's ego driven greed to do so. This one brought on a scowl even more than usual..

he has become unbearably smug ... always preferred Robert Carlyle myself (and am so enjoying him in The Last Enemy)

  ... at least it's got the blokes on here talking about personal hygiene, which can't be a bad thing .... first the 'cologne', then the Paul weller man-bag :*: :*:
