Many congratulations to Elbow for winning the following 2009 Ivor Novello Awards today:

Best song musically and lyrically: 'One Day Like This'

Best contemporary song: 'Grounds for Divorce'

Fantastic, well deserved, achievement towards the end of a fantastic 12 months for them. Hopefully, similar recognition for Richard in the not too distant future.

So happy they won! And The Leisure Society were nominated for the best song musically and lyrically, which is pretty cool. Elbow definitely deserved to win , but it's good exposure for a relatively new and quite unknown band :D
