Has anyone read this yet? Don't know whether it is an empathy thing with Northern contrarians but I couldn't put it down. Stuff like:

We have three chairs in house, One for me, one for the wife. You don't want it turning into a hippie commune. If it was an audio CD it would be class.

I read some of the extracts in   maybe The Guardian? Anyhow, absolutely fantastic ... he's so unrestrained and packs his punches ... loved what I read so might take myself out and buy the book.

Yes, it is hard not to give too much away. Have you ever tried the Mark E Smith 'Japanese Prisoner of War' technique as a means to control the kids, Mr H? If you don't stay under that table............you're not getting yer dinner (he does admit in book that he is not exactly parent material!)

I started reading it last night at 11pm and by 12.30am I'd made it to about page 100-odd. Classic stuff. I think I actually know who hes talking about when he rants about calling your kid Keegan.
Roll on tonight so I can get stuck into it again...

I really am going to have to get this. I've just changed my mobile phone message tone to Mark saying "Bury and Rushden, match postponed" when he read the football results back in December 2004.
