Has anyone seen Funny Games ????

Watched it last night. A great film that (I think) Exploits the need in films for the good guys to always win and that the evil forces should always get their just deserts.

Really well acted. But with it being a Michael Henke film some unusual bits thrown in.

Has anyone seen Hidden ???

i saw the original of Funny Games, thought it was great. Not sure why he did a remake of his own film though at all, seemed a bit pointless especially as it was still marketed as an arthouse film in the US - if it had drawn unsuspecting punters in with a "hollywood" style trailer & then hit them with the film & it's questioning of why people want to watch characters being terrorised then ok (and that would've been very funny as well), but he's literally just repeated himself from what I can gather. Does the remake have the same uplifting ending?

Saw Hidden as well - brilliant.

i saw the original a couple of years back, an absolute compelling film i thought, love the little extra henke twists in there too, very clever

as for the remake, i don't get it either but needless to say i want to see it as he is a fine director and he's someone thats never struck me as making films for the hollywood $'s, but i could be wrong :eh?

Yeah I haven't seen the original yet as I can only get the remake on Apple TV (That I've bought because the TV in America is a load of shit) It's pretty good (Apple TV that is).

Who'd of thought when my Dad brought home that massive VHS in about 1982 that one day. I would be downloading HD films straight to little box.

Blockbuster must be shitting it.

I watched the original years ago and I hated every second of it. I know it's a condemning statement on humanity, but I don't need to sit through two hours of psychological and physical torture to know the world is going to the dogs.
This film terrified me because it was so easy to believe that it really could happen to any of us.
So no, I will not be watching the halfhearted hollywood version.

aye, while I did think the film was very good & acheived what it set out to do, I remember walking out of the cinema & agreeing with my mate that I *never* want to see it again..
