He's so heavenly to listen to: the one person in human history incapable of being boring
thanks Cats

I used to tune into his evening show......when I was younger, every single night.Escape from my parents, lock myself in the bedroom and devour every moment. I liked the way he just played the music............and didn't bore me to death talking about himself.(like most DJs seem to do these days)
There was also that cute little show he presented on Radio 4 about the 'family'.........though I can not remember the exact title.
I mean, there couldn't have been anything he didn't know about music.............

It was 'home truths' beeshette ... it was quirky and sometimes a bit twee but Peel's incredible humanity always shone through. He conveyed a gentle, wry fascination with the little stories of 'ordinary' people, a celebration of the extraordinary.

You might be able to listen to some of it here (won't work on my laptop) ....
