Went to an exhibiton in town to see his photos - now that is why I don't take nature photos. Amazing.

I would have liked to have seen that, but I guess it'll be over before the Xmas holidays? I can't find any info on its showing dates.

Unfortunately Sunday was the last day - this was in Bergen though so maybe the photos will be shown other places too?

It was supposed to be on in Edinburgh - that's the one I think I've missed.

It was on in Edinburgh earlier in the year. Was lucky enough to see it - absolutely breathtaking, what a guy.

He was a truly inspirational photographer. I tried to emulate his style when I was into B+W photography, but my efforts paled into insignificance! Here is a link to one such shot;

I've been to Yosemite, it's absolutely amazing & needless to say my photos are embarrassing compared to Adams'. He did have the advantage of spending most of his life there as opposed to my 2 days though.

Thanx for your comments Snapper!

Never been to Yosemite or anywhere in the USA except NY. I am sure a visit would be most inspirational. I have had a trip to the US planned for many years now, but it keeps getting put off due to my (and my families) love of Greece!

Cheers, Steve.

top stuff. grumpy bugger though.
have you read his 3 books, the camera, the print, and the negative ?

loads of stuff about his zone system of exposure, dodging prints and re developing negs and so on. complicated shit, but that's why he's the master.
