The FSB bastard took Harry Pierce!!!!! that's no way to end the series? I knew that the Russians couldn't be trusted. Is this mean we won't see Harry in the next series??

I rather think Harry will be ok - don't worry, they'll get him back. 8)

I just watched the first ever episode to this & quite liked it (have shut my eyes to any spoilers in this thread). I'll keep watching but is it like an episodic series where they thwart one threat after another, or is there a strong, good storyline concerning the characters running the whole way through it? If it's the latter I'll definitely be sticking with it, the former probably not.

I remember the first series mate but after that lost way with it for a couple of years and got back in with the last two series - i firmly believe the series just ended is by far the best, although the first was pretty damn good as well.

Short answer to your question is that if someone just watched the one episode they would find it entertaining and enjoyable but the series' are designed as a whole with each episode complementing each other. Especially with the current/just finished series, you have to watch it as a whole and chronologically as the overall theme and storyline is linked between episodes before culminating in the final episodes.

That's not to say there are diversions along the way (Ros Myers backside for one   ), but there is a strong and coherent thread of a storyline running through. In my humble opinion, anyway.

Up to third ep of series 3, I mainlined 5 episodes yesterday, very addictive. Despite it suffering from good looking cast syndrome & a couple of ridiculous episodes (the boy with the photographic memory in particular) I'm really enjoying it. The 2 with the setting up of the main character were brilliant.

Just watched end of series 3 last night. Crikey, that was all very unexpected. Best series yet, the writers had humongous balls doing what they did with the characters.
