Anyone else watch this last night? Thought it was really good, allthough the BBC are releasing a box set of the original 3 series on DVD at the end of April. 5 disc set can be pre-ordered for £18 on Amazon.

I have turned into Reggie Perrin.

I forgot it was on, I expect it'll be repeated before the next episode. I'm not sure from the reviews (before they showed the programme even!) that it lives up to the original though.

I dont think it's meant to live up to it. It's a new take on it. The original writer though, David Nobbs, is invovled with the writing and there was a nice touch when the 'new' Reggie walked past Sunshine Desserts on his way to work!

I love the way these repeats are always billed as "another chance to see" rather than "we need to get a return on our outlay for this programme as we're desperate" or "we don't have another whizzy programme to fill this slot and we're not risking one of our new programmes in case there's another ratings winner on the other side".

Didn't think it was too bad, not really outstanding. Original was priceless.

I'm with you Lofty! Going to order the original. Used to love the mother-in-law gag and CJ's farting chair.........it's the little things!!

I've always liked Martin Clunes and think he gives it a fair crack.

it always baffles me why the original was always so seldom repeated by the BBC when its contemporary 70s comedies never seemed to be off the box.

I thought this was very good - not as good as the original, but entertaining all the same.

Cheers, Steve.
