Julien Temple's Dr Feelgood film is on BBC4 this friday 23rd April, think it's on at 9pm, followed by a concert of the Feelgood's and the Blockheads too.
:D

Cheers for that - when it got a limited cinema release I thought I wouldn't get to see it.

Just watched it - bloody brilliant - and, to repeat a Guardian review of the film, Wilko Johnson must be in line for the title of greatest living Englishman.

What a great film - there are few bands that really excite me that much and the Feelgoods just outstanding. God I really miss those sweaty, beery night in dirty, sticky music pubs.... (sigh)

I found his references to his wife and how they met, the first time they kissed truly touching and you can sense his grief and pain at her loss. He has something of John Clare about him, a poetic driven man. He also seems to carry pain around him about his relationship with Lee Brilleaux, there is such sincerity in his conversation and the passion he has drives the film and comes through his music. The film is such a powerful, human story and the music is in many ways a bonus rather than the core of the story.

Yeah thanks for that iPlayer link - didn't think I'd get to see it either. Great film. I didn't recognise Wilko Johnson at first, obviously he's changed a lot over the years. As soon as he had a guitar around his neck though - suddenly he *was* Wilko Johnson :)
