Been asked about having new forums for films, books etc. I know similar ideas have been mentioned in the past too. Having more than one would be a little much, but would anybody like a general TV/Film/Book type forum?

Yes please Craig, what a smashing idea. I would love to hear other people's recommendations. I am looking for a good book to read myself at the moment. I want something that really grabs me. A page turner so to speak.

Enthusiastic enough?

Only read the first few chapters myself so far, but this is great.

I read the review, it looks good. I like the cover too, which I know I shouldn't judge the book by.

So by the first chapters what is you assessment? Is it the kind of book you can't put down?

Definite can't put down, the review there is a pretty accurate summary from what i've read so far.

We could have a swap shop. I don't know what I would swap it for but I think I would like to give it a go.

Great Idea.

Read any Nicola Barker, Michelvis? Try the Behindlings or Five miles from Outer Hope. 8)

Since it seems to be a pretty resounding yes (though i'd be interested to know why anyone voted no?), win yourself 15 minutes of Hawleyboard fame. Any suggestions for the snappy forum header bit and description?

Top idea, count me in.

One of the best books of the year for me was 'The minotaur takes a cigarette break' by Steven Sherrill. Brilliant premise: The Minotaur, the half-man, half-bull supposedly slain by Theseus in the labyrinth 5000 years ago is actually working as a cook at the 'Grub's Rib' diner in a small town in North Carolina. Beautiful.

But what to call the forum?

I take it I am the only person that voted no? I can't read.

Craig, I'm flabbergasted!! I read that book about 2 months back and basically did it one go!! EVERYONE should read that book its funny, heartbreaking and an insight into how the mind works.

I urge everyone on here to get themselves a copy NOW!! I have recommended this book to loads of folks and dont know any of them that wasnt moved by it.

BTW.....I'm currently reading 'A drink with Shane Mcgowan', which The Clapper left behind when he left the flat! Its a good read.....Clapper started it but threw it away after he'd looked at the pictures.
