Its a lovely big chunky book full of tales of famous and obscure characters, myths, folklore and landscape that colour English 'folk' music.
I'm on my second reading at the mo.

I've read that three times now. It's great, despite its inconsistencies and the last part which just seems like him shoehorning things that suit him into his theory - Kate Bush....Full of ideas for avaenues to explore and a real sense of treading among ghosts and along quiet byways.

I struggle to use 'Music' and 'Kate Bush' in the same sentence never mind Folk music :roll:

Love this Miniture Street Art.

Saw it on TV. Loads on the Internet and they had some in the Tate a while back.

think it's done by a camera technique called tilt and shift, quite the hip thing these days.
i bet efsb could tell us more

btw, i don't own any kate bush music.

Downloadable pdfs of art catalogues published by the Metropolitan Museum of Art

For Pre-Raphaelite fans the Greville Winthrop collection (exhibited at the National Gallery) and the Victorian Artist-Dreamer Burne-Jones catalogue (exhibited in Birmingham) are worth downloading.

See, this is the point in time where Rod was both the most talented and the most beautiful man in the universe... When I say that to the younglings at work, that there was a point in time where this was the case, honestly, really, there was, they look at me with revulsion and pity. But that doesn't make me wrong. x

Managed to fit in four visits (company pay for my ticket and the Tate is reasonably close to where I work).

I downloaded the Burne Jones, Winthrop collection and the Walk around the Cloisters from that site and need to explore more. Looks good on my iPad.

i only saw the pre-raph once, and since most of the good stuff was from manc, lpool and bham, it was only really the lady of shallot that was something new for me. psychedelic or what !!?
the late millais are always a joy though. have you been to lady lever gallery on the wirral ?

I'm reading the Forsyte Saga at the minute, should be finished it by Christmas!!
