Showing again on BBC4 this week. This I've seen this short series two or three times now. It's not a nerdy trainspotter's delight, in case you're wondering - although obviously trains are central to it - but a look at the lives of the people who live & work on or amidst the hill railways. Resourceful, decent people, doing their best with what they have, and not a 'Woe is me' in sight. And trains that run, on time, over seemingly impossible geology. I'm very impressed by the whole thing. ..>

The steam train that won the contest for best loco was given a crown & a garland. And had me blubbing in my baked beans tonight :roll:
