Anyone manage to watch it the other neet? from what i saw i was really impressed with The Secret Sisters. very good!
was expecting a bit more from Wanda Jackson though, maybe it was just the choice of song that was wrong. Cee-lo green doing 'Reet Petite' was fantastic!

I caught a bit of it, probably the worst bit, Kylie sat on Jools's piano trying to sing. Its lost its appeal now i know its filmed 2 weeks before New Year , the fake merriment puts me off.

I just didn't like it that much this year - love the series - but the New Year special was just OK for me this time.

The Secret Sisters were excellent, I loved the harmonies.

just watched it again on replay, thought Wanda doing 'Rip It Up' was good. not keen on the Amy Winehouse tune though.

I saw Wanda Jackson live last year with Imelda May and she was brilliant. But I've gotta say the Hootenanny looked a bit crap to me.

Hootenanny aside though, thank the Lord for Later With Jools for the rest of the year. Are there any other music shows out there with such a broad and interesting range of acts? Can't think of any off the top of my head. I remember a programme called The White Room on Channel 4 years ago but that didn't last long.

Can't think of any - BBC4 on Friday nights is rather good tho' - I would love to view more 'later' style programmes rather than the endless re runs of old promo videos found on several TV channels.
