Hi folks i hope you don't mind me posting this link to the woodland trusts campaign to try and stop the massive selling off of the lands and woodlands proposed by this ridiculous government.I believe very strongly that this is totally wrong and immoral if we don't act they will sell it,if you agree with me i hope you will consider signing the online petition on the woodland trusts website by clicking on the link below thanks folks.

Just signed too. Saw something about this subject on TV last night - Rigg Wood on the shore of Coniston Water, where the new owners, whilst not actually keeping people out, have closed off the parking area & made access quite restricted. :(

I am a Green Union Rep at work so have been following this. I had an e-mail asking for people to encourage their M.P. to sigh the Early Day Mothion against the sale of the forests. There is a list of those who have signed, no Cons or Dems so far. :( http://twitter.com/TheGreenParty/status ... 5028073472

Here is the link if you want to e-mail your MP, there is a template which you can personalise to mention your local forest. The last time I did this I got a letter from my MP, he was in opposition at the time, not sure what his response will be now his party are making the decisions. :( He has a young family and lives near to the forest.

There was a big protest at Grizedale Forest and another one at Whinlatter Forest in Cumbria. We are going there for half term and will be there for the latter. Bit of tree hugging in order, I reckon.

Just signed it - I enjoy the great outdoors too much to want to let this happen.
