I agree Craig, I liked it best when it went out every night for half an hour at about 6.30 - it was something to watch while I knocked up the family tea... oven chips anyone ? I watched the first episode on iplayer and couldn't believe my eyes... Gawd what have they done?? and Greg actually said at one point "you have two yesses".... sorry but the new format is just pants  I won't be watching any more and according to the BBC website neither will alot of people - its received a right bashing !!

It's strange, because I'm not into cooking at all, but I like to watch cookery on TV. I didn't like the new format at all, it's gone all Game Show. 'Life lines'? This week's trailer proclaiming ''There's going to be a serious cull''? Don't tell me, they'll all be 'On a journey' next.....

What's "cooking"? Is that like putting something in the microwave? :?

I agree with the general outrage, I used to love the old mystery ingredients thing, it always produced some truly er, original results. Most REAL chef competions have this suprise element in it as it always weeds out the men from the boys, that's why its used. But its been replaced by some sort of 'kitchen lite' format with have a go brickies snivelling when they get 3 yeses. Great jessie, he wouldn't have lasted 5 mins in one of the kitchens I toiled in if he showed any sign of a tear that wasn't onion induced. I dont like the new x food factor thing AT ALL.
How are the mighty fallen.
